Frequently asked questions

Answers to the questions we hear most from wholesale customers, from request to collection.

Account & request4

We sell wholesale only, and only to businesses registered in the Netherlands, Belgium or Germany (KvK, KBO or Handelsregister). Your registration and VAT ID are how we confirm that, apply trade pricing and handle the VAT on your invoice correctly: 21% for customers in the Netherlands, reverse charged for customers in Belgium and Germany. For that we check your VAT ID in VIES, the EU register.

Pricing depends on volume, current stock and the purchase price at the time, so we quote every order individually. Your request is therefore not an order, and certainly not a payment: we place your personalised quote in your dashboard and send you a notification about it. You accept the quote in that same dashboard.

In five steps. 1) You apply for a trade account; once we have checked your company registration and VAT ID you put your request list together in the catalogue and send it. 2) We place your personalised quote in your dashboard and notify you. 3) You accept the quote in your dashboard. 4) Only then do we place the purchase order with our contacts in China. For most products we fund that purchase ourselves. For the products marked with a 30% deposit, you transfer the deposit as soon as you accept the quote, and only then do we buy in. 5) Once the goods have arrived in the Netherlands and we have checked them, we let you know (for deposit products we call you); you collect them, check them yourself and pay on collection. With a deposit, you pay the remaining balance.

Ten sealed items per request, and that figure is for the request as a whole rather than per product: three of one booster box and seven of another is fine, five of one box on its own is not. A sealed factory case counts for its contents, so a case is an order by itself. Single cards carry no minimum: one card is one card, and you can combine singles with sealed as long as the sealed half reaches ten. Loose packs carry the quantity stated on their own listing.

Price & payment3

For most products, no. We buy in against your accepted quote and carry that pre-financing ourselves until collection, which saves you working capital and purchasing risk. For some products we do ask for a 30% deposit: all loose packs, all single cards (including graded PSA and CCIC), and a selection of special products and accessories, such as figure boxes, gift boxes, promo packs and 30th Celebration accessories. Those products carry a "30% deposit" label in the catalogue, on the product page, in your quote list and in your quote. You transfer the deposit as soon as you accept the quote; only then do we place the purchase order. The list can change as we add products, so go by the label. For a first order, an exceptionally large order, or where earlier arrangements were not honoured, we may ask for a larger advance payment. If that applies to your account you will see it in your dashboard and in the quote, so before you accept anything.

Without a deposit: on collection, once the goods have arrived and you have been able to check them yourself. With a deposit: you transfer 30% as soon as you accept the quote. Once the goods have arrived in the Netherlands we call you. After your inspection you pay the remaining balance, on collection. If your quote contains both kinds of product, this applies per line. The invoice and the payment method are stated in your quote. If you opt for shipping instead of collection, payment before dispatch is set out in the quote.

Within 24 hours. That applies to larger and mixed-lot requests too. Our sourcing contacts in China confirm availability inside the same window.

Delivery & collection4

That depends on the set, the volume and when we buy in. The expected lead time is stated in your quote; you follow the status of your order in your dashboard and we notify you as soon as the shipment is in and checked.

We buy factory-sealed product from our established contacts in China. Nothing is ever shipped from China straight to the customer: everything first arrives at Shiny Trading Company in the Netherlands, where we receive and check it. Collection from us is the standard; you pick collection or shipping yourself in the request form. Shipping within the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany is then quoted as a separate line item.

Collection is by appointment only, in Rotterdam-Oost. Once you have accepted the quote and we have let you know that your order has arrived and been checked, you arrange a collection slot on . You come by after we have confirmed the appointment; you receive the full address with that confirmation. Without a confirmed appointment we cannot hand your order over.

No. At collection you get the opportunity to check the goods yourself before you pay. That is the moment the condition is established. After that, sealed product is not taken back or exchanged. For orders shipped at your request, our arrangement for demonstrable transport damage in the Returns & Warranty policy applies.

Product & catalogue4

Yes. Everything is factory-sealed Simplified Chinese TCG product sourced directly from official distribution channels in China. We do not sell resealed, tampered or counterfeit product.

Yes. New Simplified Chinese sets release frequently. Send us the set name in the notes on your request and we'll confirm availability and lead time.

For larger accounts, yes. Mention it in the notes on your request and we'll put together a mixed-product pallet quote.

Yes. Every single card in the catalogue is offered in four states: Raw, CCIC 10 Gold, CCIC 10 Silver and PSA 10. Graded copies are bought in as sealed CCIC or PSA slabs. We never submit cards for grading ourselves, so the grade on your quote line is the grade that arrives, in its original slab. You pick the state on the card's product page. Nothing below a 10 is listed; if you want a specific lower grade, name the card in the notes on your request. Sealed product such as booster boxes, gem packs and tins is always ungraded.
