About us
Who we are, how we started wholesaling Chinese Pokémon cards, and why we still do it.

Why there is one name under this site, and not a department.
Hi, I'm Gio.
My full name is Giovanni, but everyone calls me Gio. I run Shiny Trading Company out of Rotterdam, and if you send us a message there is a good chance I am the one writing back. No ticket number, no call centre — just me, usually within a day.
Like almost everyone in this world, it did not start as a business for me. It started with a pack of cards and that moment where you tilt the foil into the light. That feeling never went away. What did change is that one day a box of Chinese boosters ended up in my hands — a Gem Pack, 宝石包 — and I thought: why does almost nobody here know about this?
Simplified Chinese Pokémon cards have only been printed since 2022. The artwork is the same one you know from Japan, the price per pack is lower, and there are sets in the line that come out nowhere else. For a collector that is fun. For a shop it is something else: it is margin, and it is something in your display case that the shop three streets over does not have.
I started with one order for myself. Then a friend with a shop asked whether I could get him ten. Then someone he knew. At some point I was forwarding more boxes than I was opening, and by then it was not a hobby any more. So I did it properly: registered with the Chamber of Commerce, a VAT number, and an address in Rotterdam where you can simply come by and collect your order.
And yes — I also do this to earn money. I find it strange when a company pretends otherwise. But the way we earn decides how we behave: we only earn something once you resell your boxes and come back for the next lot. Overcharging once earns me one order. Pricing honestly earns me a customer for years. That sum is not complicated, and it is why you will not find a bait price in an advert here and a different figure on the invoice.
We deliberately hold little stock. You request a quote, we buy in from our established contacts in China only once you accept it, and we front that purchase. The money and the risk of the journey sit with us, not with you. You pay when the boxes are in Rotterdam and you have had them in your own hands.
Why ‘Shiny’? Because I am the sort of person who keeps resetting until the colours are right. My favourite is Shiny Ceruledge — purple flames instead of green. That is him beside this letter; he is part of the furniture by now. If you have a question, or want to know what a mixed pallet costs: send me a message. I read them all myself.

How it started
From one box for myself to a registered wholesaler with fixed sourcing contacts in China.
-
The first pack
Like everyone: saving, trading in the playground, the holo at the back of the binder. I never stopped collecting, and that is still the reason I know what belongs in a box.
-
The discovery
I came across the Simplified Chinese line: the same artwork, a different price per pack, and sets that only appear on the Chinese market. In the Netherlands there was barely anyone buying it in seriously.
-
The first order for somebody else
A shop owner I knew asked whether I could import ten booster boxes for him. They sold within a week. The request after that came from somebody I did not know — and that was the point where it turned into something else.
-
Properly on paper
Registration with the Chamber of Commerce, a VAT identification number, fixed suppliers in China rather than whoever happened to be able to deliver that month, and a collection address in Rotterdam. No longer reselling through a private account, but a supplier a shop can book an invoice from.
-
Where we are now
A catalogue of booster boxes, gem packs, collection boxes, figures and more than four hundred single cards, a quote within 48 to 72 hours, and customers ranging from card shops to marketplace sellers. Still one person answering the email.
What we do
Wholesale and B2B supply of factory-sealed Simplified Chinese Pokémon TCG product.
Shiny Trading Company is a Dutch wholesaler and supplier of Simplified Chinese Pokémon TCG. We import factory-sealed Pokémon cards and sealed product directly from China and supply it to registered trade buyers only: card shops, web shops, marketplace sellers, distributors and convention traders in the Netherlands, Belgium and the rest of Europe. We do not sell to private individuals.
We work without a payment gateway and without shelf prices. You apply for a trade account with your company registration and VAT number, you put a request together from the catalogue, and you get a tailored quote back with wholesale pricing that matches the volume you take. That is deliberate: with Chinese Pokémon cards buying prices move by set and by week, and a fixed price list would be the wrong price within a month.
Chinese booster boxes
Factory-sealed display boxes from the Simplified Chinese sets, in both the slim and the jumbo configuration. The volume product: minimum order ten boxes, price on request.
Gem Packs 宝石包
The Chinese gem pack series: display boxes holding four cards per pack. The entry-price product on the shop floor, with the lowest threshold per sale and the fastest turnover.
Collection & gift boxes
Chinese collection and gift boxes built around themes such as the Eeveelutions, with promo cards and merchandise inside. Your gift shelf, in an edition you do not see everywhere here.
Single cards — raw, CGC 10 or PSA 10
More than four hundred single Chinese Pokémon cards, from Art Rare to Special Art Rare, listed by set and card number. Every card can be requested raw, CGC 10 or PSA 10; graded copies are bought in as sealed slabs and we do not submit anything for grading ourselves.
Figures & display sets
Figure sets and display material from the Chinese line. Made for the counter and the window: they pull in the customer who then leaves with a booster.
Sourcing to order
Not in the catalogue, or looking for a specific set or a mixed pallet? Ask for it. We source to order and front the purchase.
How we work
Authenticity, the route via Rotterdam, collection and minimum orders — the questions every new customer asks.
Genuine, or it does not travel
The question we get most often is whether Chinese Pokémon cards are real. They are: the Simplified Chinese line is officially printed and distributed for the Chinese market, and every sealed box carries its own holographic sticker with a unique serial number. Counterfeits exist as well, which is exactly why we do not buy on a marketplace but from fixed contacts we know. Everything is checked on arrival — seal, sticker and serial — before it is handed over to you.
Everything comes to the Netherlands first
We never ship from China straight to the customer. Every order arrives with us in Rotterdam first. That costs an extra link in the chain, and that link is exactly what you pay a supplier for: you do not have to import yourself, wait on customs, or gamble on a seller on the other side of the world.
Collection in Rotterdam, payment on collection
Collection is the standard and happens by appointment. You check your order on the spot and pay only afterwards. If you would rather have it shipped, that is available on request; freight then appears as a separate line on the quote. The details are on Delivery & Collection.
Minimum order quantities, and price on request
Every product has a minimum order quantity — for sealed boxes usually ten units. Prices are not on the site: you receive them in a quote, matched to your volume and the sets you take. For that, first apply for a trade account; we review every application by hand against the company registration and VAT number.
Who we work for
Our customers are card shops that want something in the display case the competition does not have, web shops and marketplace sellers competing on buying price, distributors who think in pallets, and traders working fairs and conventions. What they have in common: they resell, and they would rather have one supplier who picks up than three who do not.
What we are not
We are an independent wholesaler and not an official distribution channel of the rights holders of Pokémon. We are also not a web shop for consumers: without a valid company registration and VAT number we cannot issue a quote. If you are unsure whether your request fits, just ask via contact — an honest ‘no’ costs less time than an application that goes nowhere.
